Membranes and stacked systems are the most common solutions for roofs, plateaus, industrial facilities and excavations. When it comes to large areas with a small number of penetrations, it is certainly the best solution. Mechanically Fastened Systems.

 

Mechanically fastened system has application when it comes to impassable roofs. The UV stable membrane is attached to the substrate, concrete slab, or steel sheet with steel fixers. Usually there is thermal insulation under it, it can be (PIR, XPS, EPS, stone, or glass wool). The layout and number of fixers are obtained using a Win-Load calculation that considers the geographical position of the object, the orientation and height of the object. One of the most financially favorable systems and of exceptional quality.

Loaded systems

 

Loaded systems are installed on passable and impassable roofs. For these systems, the membrane may or may not be UV stable and the greater emphasis is on its mechanical resistance. As their name suggests, the mechanical attachment of the membrane is provided by some of the construction loads. In the case of passable roofs, these are most often screed and ceramic, and for impassable gravel. Loaded system membranes are characterized by high durability and speed of installation.

One of the best and most modern solutions for underground waterproofing are membranes.

FPO

 

The most modern solution is FPO membranes that have a special felt that sticks to fresh concrete. This type of membrane must be applied to buildings whose excavations have groundwater or have indications for them. Concrete against the slab is poured directly over this membrane and it is 100% glued to the concrete. In case of water penetration, the problem is easy to localize and repair. Technically extremely demanding system, but in experienced hands, the right solution.

 

PVC

 

PVC membranes are cheaper solution than FPO membranes and have a high execution speed. PVC membranes must be protected on both sides with a layer of concrete to prevent some mechanical damage during formwork, reinforcement and finally concreting. An increasingly common type of waterproofing in excavations of buildings.

 

Geo Membrane

 

Geo Membranes are special LLDPE and HDPE membranes, used to form various artificial lakes, reservoirs, and landfills. Large squares can be completed in a very short time.
